Why Ain't You Jibbin Instructor Courses

The Pre-Instructor Course
To enhance the chances of passing the Level 1 instructor course, Why Ain't You Jibbin?! offers a one week intensive training course. Training will range from carving to switch riding and flatland tricks to park riding. Video footage will also be taken and analysed throughout the course.

The Post-Instructor Course
Once a fully qualified snowboard instructor, Why Ain't You Jibbin?! recommends taking their one week Post Course. You will be provided with the training needed to take Instructor Levels 2, 3, and 4, as well as the freestyle and freeride modules. The week's course covers variable terrain riding, on piste tricks such as backside 360s using mountain features, rails and boxes and also off-piste and video analysis.

Both courses will be taught using the building block technique which will give pupils the greatest opportunity to reach the required competencies and skills needed to pass the instructor exams.

The courses are designed to improve style, technique and overall riding ability.

Where? 11/12 Season
The 11/12 season of Why Ain't You Jibbin?! will be taking place in the Aosta Valley in Italy at the resort of Pila. The resort offers amazingly varied terrain, some great off-piste and an awesome park, hosting jumps ranging from green to black, boxes, rails, quarter pipe and lots of jib features. Pila has fantastic views across the Alps from Mont Blanc to Rosa, 70km of pistes and over 400 snow cannons. This little-known resort truly is an amazing place to ride, and best of all, the prices are still very reasonable!

We stay up in the village of St Nicolas in the Hotel St Nicolas. It's situated at an altitude of 1200m just 15km from Aosta and overlooks the mountain range of the Gran Paradiso National Park. The hotel is warm, cosy and welcoming. The rooms cater for 2, 3 or 4 with private facilities. With a lounge, bar and large restaurant, foosball table, free internet, tennis courts, bocce and playground right next to it it's great to keep everyone entertained.

Minimising Risk

Why Ain't You Jibbin?! Courses and camps are run in a controlled manner. While attending the course, mountain safety, avalanche awareness and park etiquette will all be covered. However there are always going to be elements of risk. These cannot be eliminated but they can be reduced. Common sense and personal awareness can help reduce risk of injury and these courses/camps operate with this as a central theme.

Why Ain't You Jibbin?! coaches/staff are all CRB checked and First Aid qualified. Juniors will be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.

IMPORTANT: all course attendees must have valid mountain sports travel insurance and a copy of this will need to be presented on day one of the course.
